ANCIENT FORD WINS ACCESSKENYA AFRICA CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE

A 1928 Ford Model A entered and prepared by Phoenix Aviation was declared the overall car winner of the AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance after a thorough assessment by the judges of the underside, external finish, interior and engine compartment at this annual Alfa Romeo Owners Club event.  .........more

Judges at this year’s AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance checks the external finish of Tor Allan’s 1966 Peugeot 404.  Tor Allan won the prize for highest placed entry from Tanzania.


Sam Tushabe

MERITORIOUS AWARD

Motorcycle judges at this year’s AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance check the 1985 Honda Goldwing of Sam Tushabe , a member of the Uganda Bikers Association. This bike won the meritorious award.

This 1963 Porsche entered by Greg Emmanuel of Moshi won a meritorious award at this year’s AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance.


Milton Aineruhanga

BEST FROM UGANDA

Motorcycle judges at this year’s AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance check the 1994 BMW of Milton Aineruhanga, the Chairman of the Uganda Bikers Association. This bike  won the award for the highest placed entry from Uganda.

THIRD OVERALL

Pierre Parsons judges the engine of the 1934 Railton of  Diccon Wilcock during the AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance.  Diccon was placed third overall in the car category.

ROLLS ROYCE.                 
The 1951 Rolls Royce limousine of Rajesh Lakhani will be contesting the over 4,000 cc touring car class in the AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance and will be up against the 1948 Plymouth of Magdy Riad and a 1966 Ford Mustang entered by Richard and Clare Hooper.

1938 CITROEN.      
Oscar Bigi checks his 1938 Citroen Big 6 in readiness for the AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance which will be held on September 27th at the Nairobi Racecourse. This will be the first appearance of a pre-World War II Citroen in the 39 year history of the Concours.


Wilfred Oroko

1936 AUSTIN 7.      
Wilfred Oroko and his wife won the costume award at last year’s Concours with this 1936 Austin 7 entered by Vintage Weddings. The ancient Austin will be a star attraction at the Nairobi Racecourse on Sunday, (September 27th) with the gates opening at 9.00 a.m.


Rashid Mughal

1930 FORD.             
Rashid Mughal puts the finishing touches to his 1930 Ford Phaeton which will be appearing for the first time at the Nairobi Racecourse to contest the class for pre-1940 cars in the AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance. The vehicle beauty contest will be held on Sunday, (September 27th) and the gates will open to the public at 9.00 a.m.


Paul Chemngorem

VW BEETLE.          
This 1956 VW Beetle of Paul Chemngorem is among the entries for the up to 1300 cc touring car class in this Sunday’s (September 27th) AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance.


Michael Milner-Smyth

1916 TRIUMPH

Michael Milner-Smyth, the Chairman of the Vintage Motorcycle Club of South Africa will compete in the AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance with this 1916 Triumph Junior under the sponsorship of Kenya Airways Cargo. The Concours will be held on September 27th at the Nairobi Racecourse.

TOP BIKE.               

This 1958 BMW 27R of Karl Pleitz which emerged the overall winner in 2005 will be contesting the AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance on Sunday (September 27th) at the Racecourse.

1926 FIAT FOR ACCESSKENYA AFRICA CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE

A 1926 Fiat is the latest entry in the class for pre1940 cars for the AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance scheduled for September 27th at the Nairobi Racecourse. LAMBRETTA REBUILD.  Henry Hunt has started a complete rebuild of a 1957 Lambretta motor scooter which will contest the Africa Concours d’Elegance at the Nairobi Racecourse on September 27th. He will be working against the clock to finish this total restoration.

BIG BIKE.     This powerful 1600cc Harley Davidson of Henry Hunt will be a star entry in the over 900cc class at the Africa Concours d’Elegance to be held on September 27th at the Nairobi Racecourse.  The first time entrant will also be showing a 1957 Lambretta scooter and an ex-police BMW bike made in 1981.

THE CLASSIEST EVENT ON THE MOTORING CALENDAR

The classiest event on the Kenya Motor Sports Federation (KMSF) calendar is held each year at the Nairobi Racecourse on the last Sunday of September. Titled the Africa Concours d'Elegance this combines a motoring and social occasion with a fun filled family day. The 1951 Rolls Royce limousine of Rajesh Lakhani will be contesting the over 3,000 cc touring car class in the Africa Concours d’Elegance and will be up against the 1946 Plymouth of Magdy Riad and a 1952 Chevrolet entered by Walter Serem.

The 1967 Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint of Gayling May will be a star attraction at the Africa Concours d’Elegance to be held at the Nairobi Racecourse on September 27th. There will be 12 classes for all makes and types of cars and eight for motorcycles.

Magdy Reyad checks the interior of the 1946 Plymouth which is one of the five cars he has entered for the Africa Concours d’Elegance to be held at the Nairobi Racecourse on September 27th. The Plymouth is a fine example of an early post war American saloon car and will contest the over 3,000 cc touring car class.
